Just about two years ago, the people who watched anime were very few in number. Now however about 80% of all the people in my grade watch anime. So in response to your question, anime is indeed cool and frankly quite awesome for all of us here, but there will always be people criticizing it somewhere around us.

It is… Japanese. Anime means, a “Japanese” animation film made production. Technically, you wouldn't use the word anime for the term of a Chinese animation. Anime is mostly used referring to the Japanese animation.
